Max & Oscar (Ah-Ya)

Max is showing a lot more interest in Oscar, and Oscar is starting to come around as well. Max is starting to search for Oscar, or as he calls him "Ah-Ya". He likes to pet him and sometimes he'll even try to bring a book over to read to Oscar. Oscar is usually ok for a second or two, but is still resistant and walks away. We're getting there.

Lake Nokomis

Our friends Josh, Jake, and Natalie invited us up to their parents cabin in northern Wisconsin for the weekend. Jake and Natalie have a little boy younger than Max. They're starting to get a little more interactive and it's really cool to watch.

First Haircut

Max got his first haircut from Kelsey's cousin Erica. He was great and looked so much older right after.

Happy 4th!! America's Day

We hung around our neighborhood in Monona for the 4th weekend. It was a great time and the community had a lot going on. They held Monona Fest with live bands, art fairs, rides, beer tents, and fireworks. We hung with our great neighbors and had a good ol fashion American weekend.

Door County

At the end of July, Mimi and Pops came up to Wisconsin for a nice long visit from Wednesday-Tuesday. We got to hit up their favorite spot on Wednesday night, Dotty's Dumplings. This is the burger joint that all of Max's grandparents, aunts, and uncles hung out while they waited for him to be born. Max got to proudly wear his I Heart Hamburgers shirt. During the day Mimi and Pops watched Max while we were at work. They stayed busy, going on bike rides and walks. Max and Oscar really enjoyed having them there. Over the weekend we had a wedding to go to in Door County, WI. Door County is really cool part of the state. It's a peninsula that starts at Green Bay, and juts out into Lake Michigan. There's a road that runs along the coast that stops in all these cool little coastal towns. We drove up on Friday, and Gus and Pops stopped at the Oshkosh Airshow on the way, which they thought was really cool. We stayed in Egg Harbor at a rustic motel called the Lull-A-Bi Inn. It was tight quarters but we were able to laugh about it. We hung around a cool town called Fish Creek on Saturday and had really good pizza at the Wild Tomato. We headed off to the wedding Saturday afternoon while Mimi and Pops took Max and went jetting around the peninsula. It sounds like they had a great time that ended with watching the sunset from a restaurant overlooking the park Egg Harbor. Apparently Max was a hit at dinner and kept Mimi and Pops as well as the other diners entertained. On the way back on Saturday, we stopped off for a tour of Lambeau Field. It was Mimi, Max, and Pop's first time at Lambeau. Max put on his Packers gear and was really active when we got there. He was running around the atrium saying hi to everyone. He looked so tiny in such a large place. The tour was great. They took us through the suites and down on the field. Pops is a big sports fan and it meant a lot for him to be on such hollowed football grounds. We were so happy to have Mimi and Pops for such an eventful visit.

Boy loves dill pickles.

Hayward Vacation

For the first week of June, Nana and Papa rented a house on the lake "Up North" in Hayward, WI, and invited everyone to come up. The cabin was so nice and the lake was beautiful. Everyone was able to get out on the water in Papa's new boat. The guys got to get a lot of fishing in, which they really enjoyed. Max man loves exploring new places, so he got busy once we got there. He finds the strangest places to focus on. There was a small entryway from the front door that had 2 steps going up into the kitchen. Max wanted to hang out there and go up and down the steps the whole time. We enjoyed the lake life, and went into town a couple times to eat and look around. Hayward is the home of the Lumberjack World Championships and every week they put on a show. We took Max to see them cut, climb, and run on the logs. It was a great trip, thanks so much Nana & Papa for having us.

Picture Dump

Well it's been a very busy time lately and unfortunately the blog has suffered. Promise to have a post soon but in the meantime here's some Max pics from the past couple months.
