1 YEAR!

"Are you ready for your blessings, Are you ready for your miracle" - Chance The Rapper

Max Man, we can't believe one year ago you came into this world. We had taken classes, read books, and heard first hand accounts from friends and families about what to expect with being first time parents. Nothing could have prepared us for the incredible amount of joy and love you have brought into our lives. It is hard to put into words. We love you to the moon and back and back again. Everyday you surprise us with what you have learned and what you can do. You are such a happy boy, always smiling. You wear your emotions in those big beautiful expressive blue eyes, and they don't miss a thing. You have such a strong sense of wonder. You love to take in the world around you. We joked from early on that you had FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out). For us, you are the proof of the goodness and beauty in the world. This has been the greatest year of our lives, and we are so excited about our future together.

Max's 1st Birthday!

Since we were going to be traveling on Max's actual first birthday we threw his party the weekend before. It was a great weekend. Mimi, Pops, Aunt Hattie, and Uncle Sammy all made the trip up from Indiana for the weekend. They got in Friday night and helped us setup for the party.

On Saturday we had the party. The weather was perfect. We had tons of food, cake, and games. Lots of family, friends, and neighbors stopped by. Everyone seemed to have a great time, especially the Birthday Boy. Max loved his cake and got a lot of really cool gifts.

Before the Hoosiers left on Sunday we went out to brunch downtown.  It was a lot of traveling for a short weekend, but it was filled with fun and love. We really appreciate them making the trip.

Oscar you've got to try this.

After the guests left we opened some of Max's gifts. He was pretty pumped.

April & Easter

We've got a lot of catching up to do. Here's a bunch of pictures from April. It's been rainy, but the nice day's we get here and there we take full advantage of.

Easter Weekend was beautiful. On Saturday morning we had Breakfast With The Bunny at the Monona Community Center. Max was unsure of the Easter Bunny on his first visit, but by the second time up he made a clear decision that he was not a fan. After the breakfast we went down to the Monona Dream Park where they had a big Easter Egg hunt. It was packed. There was probably a couple hundred people there. Needless, to say the hunt was over as quick as it started. Max did get one egg.

On Sunday the Easter Bunny came and hid eggs around the house. Max had a lot better luck on his solo hunt. He picked up on the idea pretty quick. With Oscar's help he found all the eggs and figured out that he was supposed to put them in his Easter Basket. After the hunt we went to church in Madison. Max was great, and slept(snored) through most of it. After church we headed down to Janesville and spent the day at Nana & Papas. A lot of family stopped by including both sets of great grandparents . Max got to do another egg hunt, and was a pro by this time. He got lots of nice gifts and we ate very well.

2 Dogs & a baby

Who knew oil changes could be this fun.

Age old tradition of watching Sesame Street. It's pretty amazing this show has been on since 1969 and still resonates with children better than most other programs can. Max is a big Elmo fan right now.

First trip to Home Depot with dad.

Max's friend Scarlett had a birthday party at a place called the Kid's Gym. Max loved climbing and rolling around.
