April & Easter

We've got a lot of catching up to do. Here's a bunch of pictures from April. It's been rainy, but the nice day's we get here and there we take full advantage of.

Easter Weekend was beautiful. On Saturday morning we had Breakfast With The Bunny at the Monona Community Center. Max was unsure of the Easter Bunny on his first visit, but by the second time up he made a clear decision that he was not a fan. After the breakfast we went down to the Monona Dream Park where they had a big Easter Egg hunt. It was packed. There was probably a couple hundred people there. Needless, to say the hunt was over as quick as it started. Max did get one egg.

On Sunday the Easter Bunny came and hid eggs around the house. Max had a lot better luck on his solo hunt. He picked up on the idea pretty quick. With Oscar's help he found all the eggs and figured out that he was supposed to put them in his Easter Basket. After the hunt we went to church in Madison. Max was great, and slept(snored) through most of it. After church we headed down to Janesville and spent the day at Nana & Papas. A lot of family stopped by including both sets of great grandparents . Max got to do another egg hunt, and was a pro by this time. He got lots of nice gifts and we ate very well.

Who knew oil changes could be this fun.

Age old tradition of watching Sesame Street. It's pretty amazing this show has been on since 1969 and still resonates with children better than most other programs can. Max is a big Elmo fan right now.

First trip to Home Depot with dad.

Max's friend Scarlett had a birthday party at a place called the Kid's Gym. Max loved climbing and rolling around.

March Madness

We stayed busy in March. The month started off with a visit from the Steele's! Aunt Sasse, Uncle Darren, and cousins Maddie and Eli made the trip to Madison from Brownsburg Indiana. We had a great weekend and Max loved hanging out with his cousins. They brought him their train table and train sets, which Max has loved playing with (Every morning when he wakes up one of the first things he does is stare and point at the train table.) On Saturday afternoon we went downtown and went to a kids show at the Overture and then went out to eat. When we got home we walked over to the park. Max and the kids got to swing, run around on the playset, and and Max got to go down the slide for the first time. Sadly, Sunday morning came and we had to say our goodbyes to the Steele's. It was great to watch Max hang out with his cousins. We were so thankful they made the trip, and can't wait to do it again.

Shortly after the Steeles left we had some more visitors. Gus's Aunt Suzanne and Cousin Alex were in Kenosha for Alex's baby shower so they stopped over to Madison on Sunday to see us.  Alex's husband, Joe, is from Kenosha, and is now in the military serving overseas. They are due with their first baby, a girl, at the end of April. We are so excited for them, and know they will be such great parents. It also hammers home the respect we have for the sacrifices made by our service men and women and their families. We went out to brunch downtown and got sat by a big window looking out into the street. Max loved this, he pressed himself up against the window and waved at every passerby. We had a really good food and it was great to catch up with Alex and Suzanne.

Early morning bottle time.

Saint Patrick's Day parade.

Picking Max's bracket. We would 2 puffs in front of him, and which ever one he picked coincided with the team he chose. Unfortunately Max's overall winner, Florida Gulf Coast, didn't make it past the first round.

Max loves sticking his head in the LaCroix box.

Getting ready to cheer on the Boilers.

Watching Wisconsin take down #1 Vallinova

Brunch with the babies.

Max loves bottles and Melissa McCarthy movies.

11 Months!!

Max we can't believe you're only a month away from your first birthday. You have grown so much this month. You've started walking and climbing. Now we need to keep an even closer eye on you. You're starting to develop some new emotions that we hadn't seen before. You've even gotten angry a couple times. You're still such a sweet little guy though. You've gotten a bit clingy and are wanting to be held a lot. You like to jibber jabber a lot, and you like to do this funny thing where you put your hand to your mouth and make this sound. You've been really difficult to get in your car seat and to change your diaper. The second we try to do either, you start rolling and refusing to be still. We always need to have a distraction, like a toy, on hand. We love you Max. Every day you remind us of how lucky we are.

Walking!!

Max Man you're walking! You took your first steps on March 20th. We were at home and you took a couple steps going from Dad to Mommy.  You get so excited when you're about to walk. You stand up and start clapping. You make sure everyone is watching before you start stepping.

The next day we got this videos from Daycare.
