Max turned 6 weeks today. Since the last post Max has been a growing boy. The little butterball is up to 11 pounds and 5 ounces. He's pretty balanced between sleeping, being awake and content, and awake and fussy. Lately he's been pretty fussy so we're just trying to get through it and hope it's short lived. When Max is awake and alert it's such a joy watching those big blueberry eyes take in his surroundings. He looks all over the place with his mouth agape like he's in awe of everything.
Max meets his cousins! On memorial day weekend we made the trip to the Steeles house in Indy. We were worried about whether Max would travel well. We're so glad we decided to make the trip because Max couldn't have been a better traveler. All Max's Small-side family was at the Steeles that weekend, and I don't think he ever went without someone holding him. Cousins Eli and Maddie got to meet Max for the first time. Maddie was smitten with the little guy. She even held him for awhile and it clicked for her that he's the real thing, saying "This isn't a baby doll it's a real baby". Eli was happy to meet Max, but I think he's looking forward to when Max is big enough to play all the sports that he is so crazy about.
